For those who might have been hidden in a cave for the last months, FENDI MANIA is a legendary capsule collection of ready-to-wear and accessories for men, women, and children between the fashion powerhouse Fendi and the Italian heritage sportswear brand Fila (OMG Eighties I love you).

Fila and Fendi remix their logo, exploring Fashion’s old love affair with loud and big branded things while blending two opposing elements: high-end fashion and everyday sportwear.

“It’s like when you wear sneakers with a tuxedo, because it’s today’s life. There are no borders anymore. FENDI MANIA enjoys the freedom to poke fun at fashion and fancy ideas.”says Fendi’s creative director Sylvia Venturini Fendi.

How artist “Hey Reilly” created a logo mashup that went from brandalising virtual image to real.

It apparently all started from an Instagram DM after the artist had posted his now-famous-FendiMania-Lady-Liberty.

Taking its name from the initials of the Maison’s address on the Avenue George V, Paris, number 3, the GV3 marks a unique moment in the brand’s history as the first handbag in a new collection from creative director Clare Waight Keller (previously Chloé house creative director).

Loyal to the Givenchy legacy, sophisticated yet practical, the GV3 is a flap shoulder handbag, composed of 2 separate halves as a whole, closing with the most iconic Double G “kissing clasp”. I remember seeing it as a little girl on my grannie’s Givenchy make-up powder and the fact that Waight Keller has revived it as a signature hardware is bold, meaningful and very brand iconic.

To me, the GV3 is paying homage to the past with today’s aesthetic for clean lines. And that is deeply beautiful.

Tactile materials of the highest quality

I’ve always had a thing for structured frame, well-designed shoulder bags as well as for soft, quilted leather – both synonym of true elegance.

Made in Italy with shiny goatskin chosen for its natural sleek grain, the GV3 pairs it with matt lambskin, with a “Tamponato” finish, which gives more depth to the natural leather character.

Entirely assembled by hand, every stiches and raw seam are hand-painted for the most impeccable finish. A piece of art.

Why your bag needs a regular care regimen and how to start one

I am so excited to be doing a post on luxury-item-care today because I truly think this is often missed. If you’ve been following us for a while, then you probably know how much we love handbags.

If you’re owning a few designer pieces and wish to keep them for as long as possible, while making the most of your investment, read on for my tips bellow.

Why caring after your luxury goods is so important?

I believe most of us know we should look after our designer wardrobe but struggle to implement it in our daily lives. Taking good care of your items will lead to greater satisfaction wearing them, looking fresh and beautiful, they’ll reflect positively on yourself.

An item well maintained is an item that will wear well, getting even more beautiful as it ages, gaining in character and personality; following you through the years, building momentum and gorgeous history.

How to know what’s best for your item?

It might be very confusing and hard knowing what care requires a specific item – whether it is made with leather, exotic skin, luxurious fabric or a specific colouring.

Figure out the best products to use referring to experts – never ever try a product before being 100% certain this is suitable to your item.

Keep them organised

The more organised they are, the easier it will be to look after them.

I like keeping some of my shoe boxes for best wardrobe-looking-results and place most of my bags in their protective pouches to prevent from dust and sunlight.

Organising them per colour and season is also very helpful when it comes to styling your outfits. It will limit any risk of messy-wardrobe-alert, related to the classic “I have nothing to wear” panic attack.

I also recommend allocating a dedicated space in your wardrobe for designer bags, shoes, clothing and accessories.

Keep them clean and ready to wear

You will find great joy and satisfaction in having all your items spotless and ready to wear, vs a dry-clean pile giving you anxiety each time you look at it.

Don’t over-use / over-load them

Most of us think that because they’re luxury items, they are some kind of unbreakable item but this is actually the opposite: they are fragile, mostly handcrafted out of the most delicate leather or fabric.

If you’re lucky enough to own different handbags: rotate them and try not to wear always the same, especially on a day to day basis.

Last but not least, be mindful of what you place in them. I know this is tempting to carry our all house around, but on this chapter, remember that less is more 😉
